The RTIP offers students many avenues to interact with professionals in the pari-mutuel industry—these opportunities include participating in internships in the U.S. and abroad, and interaction with industry “guest professors” who are bought in to lecture in the classes.

The RTIP also hosts the industry’s largest annual racing conference, the Global Symposium on Racing & Gaming, where students are put in contact with the “movers and shakers” of the racing industry, many of whom are RTIP alumni.

Students are encouraged to participate in the Symposium “Mentor Lunch”, which brings students together with the industry professional of their choice. They also have the opportunity to showcase and discuss their senior projects during an academic session.
