Vic Stauffer and the 'Competitive Advantage' of Experience

Vic StaufferTucson, AZ —Vic Stauffer, Betfair Hollywood Park announcer and steward on the California fair circuit, joined students in the Joe Hirsch Speaker Forum today to share his experience in the racing industry. From his laundry list of job titles, Stauffer shared with students his myriad of experiences in racing and brought them along for the ride of the 37 years of what he calls “a labor of love.”

“Whatever you do in this industry,” Stauffer began, “It’ll end up being a passion, not a job.”

After regaling memorable moments in racing such as Spend A Buck’s 1985 Jersey Derby, Stauffer made it clear that while they may not know it, RTIP students have a competitive advantage when it comes to establishing a career in racing. Between showing the commitment to horse racing by initially enrolling in the RTIP and having gained the hands-on training the program provides, Stauffer stated, “If there’s two qualified people applying for a job, when it comes down to it, you’ll win.” Vic Stauffer and the 'Competitive Advantage' of Experience.
